I run our monetization & operations teams, helping millions of users navigate their shopping journey every day.
I'm from Chicago and attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I studied Economics and Creative Writing. After a lifetime of harsh winters, I decided to move to Los Angeles to find a tech job on the beach.
For the first few years in LA, I worked at PriceGrabber (acquired by Connexity in 2015). As part of the business development team, I formed partnerships with digital publishers like AOL and Internet Brands. Similar to an affiliate network, we helped publishers monetize their shopping content.
I've been working at Demand.io since 2017. When I joined, my role was to bring brands onto Dealspotr to run influencer campaigns & share exclusive promo codes. Over the years my responsibilities have expanded to cover our monetization and content operations efforts.
When I was interviewing, there were a few things that jumped out to me about Demand.io. First, I was looking for a company where I could have an actual impact on the products every day. Given the size of the team, it was apparent that everyone at Demand.io had a direct impact on the end products.
Secondly, when I first met Mike & the team, I was immediately stuck with how passionate everyone was. I wanted to be surrounded by people who would push & challenge me everyday.
Lastly, I was looking for a company that fostered growth of all employees. It was apparent that Demand.io encouraged everyone to grow, whether that's through a learning a new technical skill or reading a book.
Honestly all of those points are something I've experienced every single day. The team, both our in-house & remote teams, are great people that make each day enjoyable. We have regular team social events, including my personal favorite: Korean BBQ dinners.
I've also been able to learn a ton of new skills, helping me grow professionally. One main skill I've picked up is SQL. Prior to Demand.io, I didn't know anything even remotely technical. But Mike encouraged me to learn SQL, which has helped me become far more effective in my day-to-day work.
My dog Wally.
Can I say my dog, Wally? Well I'm going to. If I'm not working, there's a good chance I'm hanging with Wally. Whether I'm heading to the beach or to a local brewery, Wally is usually tagging along.
Endurance sports.
Endurance sports, especially running and triathlons. I'm a competitive person, and these sports help me channel my competitive spirit while also maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Online window shopping.
On most nights, you'll find me sitting on the couch, browsing new brands & products. I'm the type of person who will research a $5 product for 5 days straight before actually buying it.
Continuous growth. As an endurance athlete, I believe that change & growth doesn't happen overnight. To best help our users & partners, we need to be consistently growing ourselves, never getting stagnant. Every day, I'm learning something new, whether that's a new DTC brand or an operational change.
